Savannah Mini Game (Windows)

This mini-game has been made on top of a modified version of the Savannah template available in TerraWorld plus some manual customizations using built-in editing and authoring tools in TerraWorld. TerraWorld gathered real-world elevation, imagery and landcover data to process them with its built-in AI and procedural algorithms to create a phanatasy and Sci-Fi twin of the area.

All NPCs have non-baked real-time AI and Runtime NavMesh system to detect player and change decisions based on environment changes.

This project is a 4 day attempt to wrap up a sample FPS Shooter game using built-in tools in TerraWorld and a few helper scripts.

Some notable features added to TerraWorld core which will be available in the next update are:

  • Optimized and high performance Day/Night Cycle (Updates lighting every 100 milliseconds)
  • Fully real-time lighting, shadows, reflections and ambient lighting in a performant manner
  • Touch Bending for grass, plant and tree leaves (See how grass bends when explosions happen via throwing grenades)
  • Runtime Spawners to procedurally place NPCs & wood-sticks around player
  • Added Raycast function to sort hits and output the closest distance collisions (NPC's laser rays and shooting decisions are based on in-between obstacles, updating every 1 second)
  • Fully collide-able and interactable scene elements with rigidbodies for physics interactions using "Dynamic Player Interactions" feature (See how placed models react to grenade explosions within the explosion force range)
